Dear Diary,

It’s 7 A.M.  Not quite light out yet.  It’s past time to be up and at it.  I’m tired.  We are trying to complete getting our wheat planted and other fall work done.  Yesterday was the second Sunday in a row that we skipped church and worked instead.  No days off for over 2 weeks now.  We did finally finish getting the feed baled.

8 A.M.  Breakfast over.  Larry has gone on to the field and is drilling.  I will feed the 2 orphaned calves that still require bottle feeding.  Also will put hay and grain in for the heifer that isn’t doing well and needs TLC.

9 A.M.  In the field now, working ahead of the drills with the field conditioner.  Can’t get too far ahead or we’ll lose what little moisture we have.

10 A.M.  Stop conditioning to fill drills while Larry runs important errand.

10:45 A.M.  Back on field conditioning job.

12:30 P.M.  Stop for lunch.  No time to cook.  Eat sandwiches from meat cooked in crockpot yesterday.

1:30 P.M.  Back in field.  We seem to be glued to news stations on TV since attack of 9/11.

2:30 P.M.  I’m done with field work for today and am back home.  Dishwasher needs running.  It’s old.  I’m afraid to run it while I’m gone.

3:30 P.M.  Revising radio spot of 9/11 for newspaper publication and later airing on radio.  Remembered I’m to do a diary of today so I’m writing it now for up to current time.

4:45 P.M.  Must start thinking what to prepare for supper and do some laundry & more cleaning.  Just checked refrigerator; there are leftovers available—Good!  That’s one less job to do.

7 P.M.  Calves need fed again.

8 P.M.  Larry is home.  We’ll eat and get cleaned up.

8:30 P.M.  Watch news channel on TV.

10:30 P.M.  Local news and weather over.  Go to bed.
