8:00 AM
Started my day with a cup of coffee while reading today’s newspaper. Focused on special articles related to the drought and farm situation.

9:00 AM
Today is cleaning day. I spent a couple of hours picking up, dusting, & vacuuming. Interrupted by phone call from the daughter of a dear friend from Missouri. Her mother is deteriorating from Alzheimer’s. Shelly was needing support – on phone for a half hour. Did 5 loads of laundry during AM.

11:00 AM
Made several phone calls to solicit gifts and volunteers for the group devoted to the restoration of an abandoned theater in our town. Am active in an effort to hold a major fund-raiser on November 4th.

12:00 PM
Worked on financial records for August and paid September bills. It’s time to reconcile bank statements and do some budgeting for the month.

1:00 PM
Husband home for lunch. He gets left-overs.

2:00 PM
Wrote letter to be passed on to Congressman Jerry Moran today so we can all work for some benefit and relief from Congress for our local farmers. Invited spouse to attend the meeting with the Congressman. He is often working when Congressman Moran and other legislators visit.

3:30 PM
Continued to work on books and bills – looking for a small accounting error.

4:00 PM
Drove to Courtland (20 miles) to visit Congressman Moran with my spouse. The room was full!!

6:00 PM
Stopped at local market to shop for fresh peaches.

6:30 PM
Ate supper at Pinky’s – Great burgers!

7:30 PM
Returned to accounting chores. Finished accounting & check writing at 10:00 PM.

10:00 PM
Retired to living room to read mail and put feet up.

10:30 PM
Called sister in Michigan to discuss our farm crops - & the lack of - and share support.

11:30 PM
On computer reading & sending e-mail.

12:45 AM
To bed!!
